As for Stephen Curry, who Tatum is currently playing against in the NBA Finals, Tracy McGrady seems to think his legacy would be helped a bit if he won another ring given the circumstances of his other three titles. “That’s a tough question,” McGrady said when asked where Curry ranks all-time. “Because he has his career individually and with what he’s accomplished with his team, it’s tough. Because you have to think, he won a championship, no, against LeBron [James] who didn’t have Kyrie [Irving], which did not have Kevin Love. He did not win the [Finals] MVP, right? Then he loses a 3-1 lead to LeBron, gets KD, KD comes and wins two championships, which gives Steph three championships but KD wins both MVPs, right?

There are two very interesting prop bets on the board for #NBAFinals Game 3. One involves Marcus Smart from #Celtics. One involves Steph Curry and Klay Thompson of #Warriors. Both have very big wins: usblog.betway.com/nba/nba-playof… – 10:11 a.m.

Darvin Ham’s seriousness was on full display during his introductory press conference on Monday.
On Ham’s attacking principles, convincing Russell Westbrook to adapt, getting the most out of Anthony Davis, reducing LeBron’s workload, what he learned from Kobe and more:

Michael Jordan fired the last coach apparently because of the team’s defensive shortcomings. Who worse to hire than Mike D’Antoni!! Mitch Kupchak must be under the spell of Agent Warren LeGarie; as General Manager of the Lakers, he hired D’ANT which was a dismal failure and quit… 4 seconds – see NYK – 4:29 p.m.

Darvin Ham spent a lot of time with Kobe when he was an assistant here. Go back and forth with him on the field during training, and in the cinema:

Darvin Ham has spoken favorably of his relationship with Kobe during two seasons as Lakers assistant coach (2011-13).
Ham said his confidence as a coach increased because he could go back and forth with [Kobe]…then ask him to back up and tell me I was right. – 3:35 p.m.

It’s kind of funny to see Kobe fans upset by Jayson Tatum’s methods of honoring his idol while Jordan fans did the same with Kobe in his first finals. Whether you find it contrived or cheesy, respect the child for finding his muse. Let’s see where that takes him. – 7:44 p.m.

Whether you want to call it a dynasty or not… when you’re talking about the Warriors, a lot of people like to go back to the Lakers and their hat-trick in the early 2000s, and obviously the Bulls and their six titles. Do you think Spurs are underrated in this conversation? Tony Parker: “To a certain extent. But in the basketball world everybody knows we had an amazing run, maybe one of the best runs in 20 years in the NBA, if you look at the playoffs and all that stuff and all the success we have had over the years. I understand that we’re talking about the Bulls, the Lakers, the Celtics, the Warriors — it doesn’t bother me because when I go home, I also have my four rings. So I’ll put them against anyone. -via For Victory / June 8, 2022
“We know Steph is like the 3-point God. But when it comes to putting it with [Michael Jordan] and these guys who have won this level of championships; Kobe [Bryant] and Magic Johnson, I don’t know where to classify it. I know it is quite high. But I think these guys are in a different class than Steph Curry based on [all of that]. They are on championship teams. KD came and joined the Warriors and became MVP and helped Steph win two more championships. But Steph was not the best player on this team. —via NBC Sports/June 8, 2022
