Ryan Newman had knocked on the door to victory in the first two events of the 2022 Superstar Racing Experience on Paramount+, and last Saturday he finally let himself in. Newman had previously led the Camping World SRX Series in the points standings, but last weekend he took the top step of the podium for the first time at Stafford Motor Speedway. This Saturday night in SRX in Nashville, Newman will be looking to not only maintain his position as the points leader, but also to earn his second straight victory.

The green flag drops at 8 p.m. ET from the Nashville Fairgrounds, where Chase Elliott won the season finale last year. You can see who’s ahead by watching live on CBS or streaming the race on Paramount+ with their must-have Premium package.

Best SRXs in Nashville

Before you tune in to Saturday’s race, you need to see SportsLine’s advanced computer model choices. SportsLine’s proprietary race model simulates each race 10,000 times, taking into account a host of factors including track history and recent results.

Last season the model was all over Stewart finishing top of the SRX Series standings at Eldora. The model also called Stewart a winner in Knoxville, and now he’s signed up for Saturday’s SRX race at South Boston Speedway. In 2021, the supermodel earned five of Kyle Larson’s wins in a historic NASCAR Cup Series season, and also went 15-10 on his head-to-head matchup predictions to start 2022. Earlier this season, Ross Chastain was high to win in Austin, giving him a much better chance of winning than his 40-1 odds implied. The model was also high on Joey Logano before winning as a 15-1 underdog at Darlington. Anyone who followed his lead on these games saw huge returns.

For Saturday, the model predicts that Ryan Newman will win his second straight race and continue his dominance this season. Of the nine total race stages across the three 2022 events so far, Newman has finished third or better in four of them. Although he has yet to set the fastest overall lap in an SRX race this season, he set the second fastest time last week and fourth before that in South Boston.

In 21 years as a driver in the NASCAR Cup Series, Newman finished with 18 career wins, but he quickly established a rivalry with last year’s SRX champion and former NASCAR competitor Tony Stewart.

At last year’s race in Nashville, Stewart finished second, but Elliott will not be in the field this year for either driver. Newman needed a bit of luck to win last week’s main event, but results breed confidence, and he’s coming into this weekend with all the momentum.
