How is the USA Today Network SEC All-Sports Award figured?
Points are awarded based on the number of teams competing in a sport (for example – 14 teams compete in SEC baseball, giving the winner 14 points, runner-up gets 13, etc. Four teams compete in sports equestrian, awarding four points to the winner). A program’s point total is divided by the total number of teams competing in the school’s sports fields and this quotient ranks the teams in the final USA Today Network SEC All-Sports Rankings. Cross-country, indoor and outdoor athletics sports are combined. A program’s outdoor track finish accounts for half of that, while the remaining two quarters are based on cross-country and indoor finishes.

About the SEC All-Sports Trophy:

This is the second year of the USA Today Network SEC All-Sports Award. The USA Network is the nation’s largest local-to-national digital media organization.

GateHouse Media’s four-season run as award sponsor ended in 2019-20. The Halifax Media Group awarded the 2011-12, 2012-13 and 2013-14 trophies. The New York Times Regional Newspaper Group presented the awards for the 1994-95 to 2010-11 seasons. Prior to that, the league compiled SEC All-Sports totals.

And after?
