It’s the 2043 NBA Finals. The erosion of the east coast is impossible to ignore, and it will be illegal to hold summer football activities outdoors as the average temperature in most places will be 115 degrees. But inside, the match the world has been waiting for will finally happen. In June, four months after Michael Jordan’s 80th birthday, he will face LeBron James with the NBA championship on the line.

In the field? Maybe? If, long after having bailed out his failed hyperloop, Elon Musk can finance a team of scientists capable of constituting a veritable fountain of youth. He could be placed on a space station that he, or one of his children with equations for names, will charge for the space shuttle ride, the contents of the fountain, and the overpriced freeze-dried food since the space station will have the only 7-Eleven within 300 miles… of the Earth’s surface.

Most likely, Jordan and James would face each other from the front office. James — recently said a billionaire by Forbes – voiced on the latest episode of The shop that he wants to own an NBA team one day. He even wants to start from scratch.

“I want a team in Vegas,” he said. said in the program.

The expansion is one of the topics that constantly swirls around the NBA rumor mill. At Adam Silver’s press conference ahead of the start of the NBA Finals, he said no discussions had yet taken place, but “at some point the league will invariably expand.”

NBA Insider Marc Stein says owners won’t consider expansion until 2024 as soon as possible, after the negotiation of the new national television contracts. That being said, Seattle and Las Vegas are the clear favorites whenever the league decides to add new franchises.

Let’s say the NBA starts accepting offers in 2027 for teams from Seattle and Las Vegas to keep the conferences tied. Then the new owners of the team are decided in 2029. Currently, James maintains that he wants to play alongside his eldest son, Bronny, who is graduating from high school in 2023. With the money NIL Bronny – currently the 34th ranked high school player in America – will surely be offered, there is no rush for him to turn pro unless he is one of the top five players in the country at the start.

So let’s say Bronny is a graduate and shares the land with his dad. LeBron then retires in 2028 at age 43. Far from a definitive scenario, given that Bronny is just 6-foot-2 and LeBron is expected to play 25 seasons of NBA basketball. Still, even if LeBron hangs on until there’s not a single jump left in his legs, he’ll almost certainly be out of uniform and ready to bid by the time expansion talks get serious. He has already gathered investors to start a production company – SpringHill – and they recently sold a minority stake at a valuation of $725 millionaccording to Forbes.

Is he in a hurry to say that James will have his Las Vegas jackpots or his Bellagio fountains in the finals in 14 seasons? The Orlando Magic went to the NBA Finals twice in its first 20 seasons and the Miami Heat won a championship during that time. We don’t know how James will handle a roster he’s not on (he certainly leaves a lot to be desired with the current Los Angeles Lakers) but we’ve seen Jordan’s work. He only spent a year with the Washington Wizards before appearing in court for his final two seasons, but he’s owned the Charlotte franchise for 12 years. The Hornets finally became watchable in the 2020-21 season. Now Jordan finally has a promising young team, and news keeps popping up about the Hornets buzzing around Russell Westbrook.

What Jordan has for his first time in the front office is a player like LaMelo Ball. LaVar’s youngest still has work to do on defense, but he’s a star. The ball is the Hornets’ power line when it’s on the field. He can make any play needed and is clearly working on his game. His 3-point shooting has gone from 35.2% to 38.9% with increased volume. New coach Kenny Atkinson will improve Ball’s defense as well as that of the whole team, and will also work closely with all the careful improvements a player of his caliber needs to make from Year 2 to Year 3.

If all goes well with Ball, by 2043 he could be in the final year of an all-time NBA career as a Queen City legend with one title under his belt. The Hornets use their championship trickery to fight their way to the finals against James’ rising team in Vegas, coached by Bronny.

Until then, Sportscenter will be able to play full matches in the Metaverse of the Bulls championship teams from Jordan vs. James. This is how they will preview the series, releasing episodes one by one on streaming giant Disney+ – cable TV will have become obsolete 10 years prior. James’ 10-part documentary about his career will be featured on the homepage alongside Jordan’s now 11-part the last dance that it turns into “the living breath that changes creative expression” that Kanye West wanted with Pablo’s life once Jordan adds the Wizards years and the Hornets 2031 championship.

Malika Andrews, Richard Jefferson and Kendrick Perkins – with a distinguished salt-and-pepper beard – will be in attendance. The action on the floor is compelling, but the cameras keep flashing towards opposing owners’ boxes as Jordan quickly pulls a Cohiba vape, and viewers will see James on the 4K camera anxiously chewing his fingernails.

MJ vs. LeBron in real life, what a month of June it would be as Nevada and North Carolina both melt away from the arenas. The debates would be fierce as sports radio will air on Meta Quests and callers will be able to argue on set with Stephen A. Smith and JJ Redick.

We’ll probably never get the Jetsons’ flying cars, or sturdy affordable housing, but Michael Jordan vs. LeBron James for the NBA Championship one day is a real possibility. Then the title of GOAT will be won in the absolute best way, by two multi-billionaires who won at life, tortured in their suites having to watch other people besides themselves decide the outcome, both furious at for allowing Musk to trick them with that fountain from outer space just so they can lace up sneakers against each other and find out for themselves who’s the best.
