FC Barcelona are reportedly going back to the drawing board and preparing a bid for Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski:

Bayern Munich’s persistence this summer has seen FC Barcelona twice rejected in their bid to sign prime target Robert Lewandowski. The Catalans had started the negotiations by submitting an offer of around 32 million euros. But Bayern quickly rejected the offer, prompting Barca to come up with an improved offer of €35m.

However, reports suggest Bayern have also rejected Barcelona’s second offer, with the club’s sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic issuing a heavy-handed response. Many expect Bayern to keep Lewandowski unless an interested party submits an offer of around €50m. In light of their recent rejection, Barcelona were set to come up with another improved offer next week. And according to Gerard Romero, the Catalans are already evaluating the third offer for Lewandowski which is expected to be between €35m and €40m.

The €35-40m will be paid in cash, while Barca are ready to offer up to €7m in performance-related add-ons, potentially increasing the overall package to almost €50m. euros.

It still feels like Barca will have to go north of €50m with a base bid to secure a deal.

With the recent news that Bayer Leverkusen had signed Florian Wirtz for a contract extension, some fans were initially thinking about what this might mean for Bayern Munich’s interest in the phenom.

Well, it looks like it will still take a mountain of money to get Wirtz, but he’s still on Bayern Munich’s radar:

Wirtz is also rumored to have a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ which would let him leave after a nine-figure offer. Can Bayern Munich compete with this? Probably not:

(With Chuck out of his pocket for a few days, Samrin stepped in to host the weekend warmup and did it with aplomb. Chuck is back next week for the Season 1 finale!)

Bayern Munich made a big step official this week with the arrival of Sadio Mané from Liverpool. The Robert Lewandowski saga, while perhaps on the back burner, is by no means over. Both players are on today’s list of topics:

  • How Mane shows Bayern he’s easing his status as a destination club
  • Why Lewandowski might be forced to stay after all
  • Saša Kalajdžić rumors and their connection to Lewandowski
  • Do fans have short memories? Why Brazzo needs to save the good times
  • How a Laimer signing could actually cause headaches for Julian Nagelsmann

Gareth Bale will move from Real Madrid to Los Angeles FC in MLS, which is pretty spectacular (for LAFC and local golf courses…BEFORE!):

Of course, it was uploaded:

Could Arturo Vidal head to Inter Miami? The former Bayern Munich midfielder is attracting interest from David Beckham’s club:

Inter Miami wants to attract more top international stars for the upcoming season. According to information from Marca, club president David Beckham had a conversation with former Bayern player Arturo Vidal.

The Chilean took part in the A Beautiful Game match in Florida hosted by Roberto Carlos and Ronaldinho. There, the Englishman sought personal contact with Vidal.

The 35-year-old midfielder is tied to Inter Milan until 2023. Beckham is said to have tough competitors from South America and Qatar in his project.

Bayern Munich have worked hard to prepare for the summer transfer window. Some signatures are already secure, while other burning team-building questions remain. Germany also had four appearances in the UEFA Nations League – three draws before Hansi Flick’s men beat Italy to close their June tally on a high.

In this episode, Tom and Teddy discuss:

  • Noussair Mazraoui and Ryan Gravenberch confirmed
  • The (then) anticipated arrival of Sadio Mané
  • System adjustment and game time for newcomers

It looks like Chelsea FC and Timo Werner (and potentially Christian Pulisic too) are destined to go their separate ways this summer. Could the Germany international be used in a swap deal with Juventus to help secure centre-back Matthijs de Ligt? At least one report says as much:

Chelsea are ready to pay up to €45m plus Timo Werner to sign Matthijs de Ligt from Juventus, Sky Italy reports.

The player is said to be happy to move but Juventus want his €120m release clause paid. Werner would also like to move but he would have to take a pay cut to play for Juventus.

Sport1 also had additional details:

Chelsea are apparently considering bringing in the German national player in a swap deal. As Tuttosport report from Italy, the Blues around coach Thomas Tuchel are determined to lure Matthijs de Ligt to Stamford Bridge. The Dutch centre-back could fill the void left by German international Antonio Rüdiger with his move to Real Madrid.

According to this, Chelsea had already made a first offer to Juventus Turin, which included an additional player in addition to a transfer fee of 25-30 million euros. It should be either Werner or ex-Dortmunder Christian Pulisic. However, Juve have so far insisted on a higher transfer fee.

Werner moved from RB Leipzig to Chelsea in the summer of 2020 for around €53m. At the Premier League club, he has 46 goals (23 goals, 23 assists) in 89 competitive games.

According to information from SPORT1, the 26-year-old is also considering a change. He is still under contract with the Blues until 2025, but the club would let him go with a great offer.

Werner definitely needs to move on, but where his next stop will be remains to be seen. Returning to Germany would be ideal, but the finances of such a move would likely prove too difficult for most Bundesliga clubs.

Arsenal FC are looking to bring in Leeds United striker Raphinha and could ramp up their intensity with a solid offer:

Arsenal are expected to make an improved offer for Leeds United striker Raphinha. The Gunners’ opening offer for Raphinha was rejected as it fell below Leeds’ valuation of the Brazil international.

Leeds are under no pressure to sell Raphinha, 25, as he has two years left on his contract – although he is not expected to sign a new contract at Elland Road. Barcelona would also like to sign Raphinha, whose agent is ex-Barca player Deco.

The Brazil international joined Leeds from Ligue 1 side Rennes on a four-year deal in October 2020, contributing six goals and eight assists in 29 Premier League games in his debut campaign, while last season the player managed 11 goals and three assists in 35 years. league matches.
